On the wild coast of Reynisfjara, waves caress the black sand while basalt columns rise solemnly. From that poetry emerges PÈTRIA: pieces that capture the primal essence of nature. Inspired by volcanic geometries and deep shadows, their solid and pure forms evoke an ancestral landscape, integrating into spaces like three-dimensional poems of rock and time.
The central table of the collection stands as a basalt pillar: robust, firm, and elegant in its apparent simplicity. A single column supports the broad surface, evoking plateaus sculpted by nature. Its design allows air to flow and creates visual lightness, while its presence commands respect and invites closeness. It seems to emerge from the ground, like a dormant volcano transformed into a pure and essential form.
The coffee table is a dialogue between stone and glass. A basalt-inspired base supports a glass surface that seems to float. The contrast between stony solidity and luminous transparency evokes waves crashing against the rocks. The prismatic geometry is revealed through the glass, like strata of geological history. A balance between the firm and the fleeting, the piece breathes spaciousness and magnifies the light.
The collection is completed with modules that evoke the Reynisdrangar sea stacks: hexagonal prisms and columns that resemble rocks emerging from the sea. Versatile and sculptural, they function as tables, shelving, or display pieces. Together they create interior landscapes; apart, they retain their mineral strength. With deep textures and precise angles, they invite us to inhabit small universes of volcanic tones.
Like basalt pillars, the pieces of PÈTRIA convey eternity and reverence for nature. In their solidity dwell marine serenity and twilight mystery; in their contrasts, the harmony of the fragile and the forceful. To contemplate them is to read a poem carved in stone: spaces where the earth endures within our everyday life.
