Brightly-coloured upholstery, modern-style lacquered seating and exclusive marble pieces will feature among VICAL’s main designs for this edition of the Intergift fair in Madrid, which will run from 2 to 6 February 2022.
Inspiration and trends 2022
The continuous search for new trends, as well as adapting them to VICAL’s own designs and roots are the cornerstones of this new edition of Intergift.
Striking colours are the standout feature, with different shades of dark blue, aquamarine, green, purple, fuchsia pink and the classic contrast of black and white. Its new collection of chairs and armchairs favours this colour palette in its new designs, with velvet upholstery combined with lacquered finishes in black and gold. An example of this will be the new modular sofas in rose and olive green colour.
One of the materials to have made a big arrival is bouclé fabric, made of a knotted yarn. In an era when elegance was associated with fine, clean lines, this fabric came along to break the mould and thus offer homes the elegance and sophistication that only bouclé can achieve in any space. This special fabric will be reflected in new pieces like chairs, sofas and armchairs.
Decorative pieces will notably feature mirrors with a new, exclusive designs in which golden colours and carved wood will predominate. An extensive collection of impressive amphorae and earthenware jars in different shades of pearl grey, beige and neutral colours will also be on display, underlining the brand’s artisan credentials. The collection of canvas will be among the brand’s most surprising, with a strong focus on busts of different ethnic origins and a broad range of colours on a black background.
Marble will also be part of VICAL’s new designs. Its collection includes figures and sculptures carved in marble and motifs representing marine fauna and flora. Authentic pieces of art created so that their design can adorn any corner of the home. In addition, a nod to this trend is made through the new collection of side tables made of marble combined with crystal of gold, blue and pink colors and with pieces of mustard rattan lacquered in black with elegant marble.
PLISSÉ by VICALDESIGN together with EstudiHac, adds to its collection decorative vases handcrafted in black, white and sand color. These pieces follow the axis of pleated fabrics for their development and provide a unique, sustainable and quality way of decorating.
Sustainable materials and wooden pieces will play a major role. Wooden lamps have been added to the brand’s extensive collection of lamps. This year’s new products will focus especially on table and ceiling lamps made of this material in different formats and colours. And when it comes to shapes and structures, ball lamps continue to triumph in spaces and homes.
You will be able to see all VICAL’s designs in the next edition of Maison & Objet, in Hall 5A, Stands P168 – S167.
Also this year we participated in the Speakers corner together with EstudiHac in which José Manuel, designer of the studio, will talk about furniture and fashion, more connected than ever.
Fashion and furniture are two concepts that are more closely connected than ever: they share design, trends and collections. And we therefore want to offer a voice to this union of sectors by collaborating with EstudiHac and OLIBATI to get across the idea that design, exclusivity and quality can go hand-in-hand with sustainability.
