On Thursday, 3 February, the first event of the Madrid Design Festival was held in Madrid by VICAL and EstudiHac at the showroom of the circular fashion firm OLIBATI.
In an edition in which connected design is the leading concept and main idea of the festival, VICAL will participate along with the promising circular fashion brand OLIBATI to defend responsible consumption in the world of fashion and design and, above all, to get across the idea that design, exclusivity and quality can indeed go hand-in-hand with sustainability.
In the first event led by EstudiHac, the OLIBATI showroom was transformed into a captivating setting where the new POTS vases from VICALDESIGN’s PLISSÉ collection were presented, alongside pieces from renowned fashion brands in harmony with the textures and designs of the collection designed by EstudiHac and VICAL.
Dried flowers with touches of colour and vases offer a perfect contrast between a past time when darkness reigned, and new beginnings and moments dominated by overcoming. This is the approach that was used to design the space, making the new jars the star attractions in the collection by locating them in the middle of the space.
In the speech he gave at the event, the designer José Manuel Ferrero explained the similarity between the worlds of fashion and furniture by comparing the process of manufacturing a piece of furniture and that of a haute couture design: selecting fabrics, shapes and its artisan process. An event where passion for design, sustainability and attention to detail predominated.
